Police have arrested a man in his 40s who robbed an apartment complex in Gangnam-gu, Seoul several times and stole money and valuables worth a total of 220 million won.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 20th that it is investigating A on charges of special robbery and theft.

A is suspected of wielding a weapon and stealing his wallet when he encountered a couple who returned home while stealing goods in an apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at 8 p.m. on the 15th.

It was found that A stole about 40 million won in cash and 180 million won worth of luxury goods and precious metals seven times in two apartment complexes.

All of the apartments that committed the crime have a corridor structure, and it was investigated that A mainly opened the security window during the week when the house was empty due to work.

The police identified A based on CCTV and arrested him urgently at 1:50 p.m. the previous day.

A, who does not have a certain job, made a statement to the police to the effect that he committed the crime in Gangnam, where there are many wealthy people to raise living expenses.

A police official said, "We plan to apply for an arrest warrant."
